Twins 18 month stats

I've forgotton to do this until now! I took the girls to see Dr. Zollo for their 18-month check ups on Sept. 12th. Here are their stats:

Bailey

33 inches (75%)
22 lbs 2 oz (25%)
head 46 cm (50%)

Brielle
33 inches (75 %)
22 lbs 5 oz (25%)
head 46.5 cm (50%)

The girls are doing great, and the Dr. was very impressed with how well they were speaking. He said they look for kids to be saying at least 15 words by the time they are 2 years old. My girls are talking in sentences- granted they are only 2-3 words long, but they get their point across. Today Brielle pointed to a fly that was flying around and said, "Fly- get it." And when Dr. Zollo walked into the room, Bailey said, "Hello Doctor!" I have to brag. I think my girls are very smart.

They also love being in the nursery at church, and I always know which songs they sing because Bailey will come home singing them. Last week Bailey was singing, "Aaaaaaaaas I doing, follow follow me me." They also love "Head, shoulders, knees and toes." Bailey was also heard throughout Wal-Mart last week singing "Do you know- Muffin Man, Muffin Man." It is so fun to watch them learn and Ambree and I get a kick out of them imitating everything we do. Basically I'm saying that I really love my babies. Can you tell?

The Skeletons Inside...

Apparently my dad has been teaching Ambree about our bones and skeletal systems. Ambree and I were looking at a halloween book and there was a skeleton in it, and she said, "Did you know that Papa said we all have skeletons living inside of us?"
It was funny because in her little mind, I picture her thinking that there are all of these little skeletons dancing around inside of us!

My Thursday

I promise I am a good mom. At least I thought so until yesterday.

After I fed the girls breakfast Ambree kept asking me to play with her. I really wanted to get the house picked up and looking somewhat decent because my neighbor was bringing her kids over to play. So I kept telling Ambree that we would play later when her friend was over, and instead she should clean up her room.

I hopped on the computer to get my shift in and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the girls were playing. I was mostly surprised that they weren't bothering me like they usually do while I work.

After work I quickly got ready and got the twins some clothes and ran to get them dressed. I took off Brielle's pj's and as I put her shirt on I noticed that there was hair on her back. Her hair. All of the sudden I noticed that all around me were these little wisps and locks of blond curls. Que horror movie music.

I looked at Brielle's head and saw that chunks of her beautiful hair were missing. I started to feel sick.

"Where are the scissors Ambree?" She noticed that I was not happy and ran to get them. In the mean time I grabbed Bailey and looked. It was NOT pretty. Oh- my little girls!!!

My neighbor was going to be here in 10 minutes and here I was, in tears, picking up these blonde locks of hair that I kept finding everywhere.

I think I was shaking during the entire visit, and I feel bad because I could not concentrate on our conversation. I tried to sit Bailey down to assess her damage but I was too shaky and Bailey just wanted to play.

After they left I called my mom to tell her what had happened and ended up in tears again.

I held off calling Joe until I could calm down a little. Finally a few hours later I called him and said, "Ambree cut Bailey and Brielle's hair." He laughed. Me? I began crying. Again. I was an inconsolable mess. To him, it probably sounded like they had no hair left on their little heads. He kept telling me that it would grow back, and that every little kid does it. I continued to cry.

My mom and sis showed up a little while later. My mom came bearing her comb and hair scissors. She said that it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. Bailey's hair was saved. No cutting required. Brielle had to have a little trim. Poor Brielle- she has the least hair of the two as it is. It actually looks really cute on her. It fits her. They both, however have little chunks here and there that will just have to grow out.

I can be grateful that Ambree did not touch her own head with those scissors. I also realized that today, I can laugh about it.

And we probably will be forever more.

Utah State Fair

This past weekend I took my girls to the Utah State Fair. We had fun looking at the animals, playing games and one of my girls braved a ride!

Cute Ambree-Doo.

Bailey loving the goats.

I took Ambree to the bathroom and when I returned, my mom had bought tickets for Brielle to ride this ride. Apparently she threw a fit when my mom tried to walk past the ride without getting on! She sure knows how to work her Grandma!

Uncle Chris won this for Ambree.

Cousins!

Look at those faces!

Chris had Brielle laughing so hard playing with the bunnies.

Dancing to the music!

And the best part of the whole night?
The slushie!

Running in the Rain

On Labor Day, I ran my very first 10-K.
I woke up that morning to thunder, lightning,
and a complete downpour.

Luckily the day brightened up a bit for the race,
but not the entire thing.
At one point it began snowing!

I'm just happy I finished!
1 hour and 5 mins.

I did it!

Me, Tiffany, and Joelle.

I was so happy that Jen came and ran it also.
Although her 41 minutes sure makes
my 1 hour and 5 minutes seem not so great!

Her prize: a silver dollar.

Oh, and don't let this innocent face fool you.
This is Jen's friend, Seth.
He was the winner. No joke.

Jen, Dad, Mom, and me.

Ambree's first day of pre-school!

Ambree began pre-school last Friday, Aug 29th. I must admit that I was not very excited. Not that I'm not happy to see her going to school, but I'm just not ready to give her up for 2 hours a day, 2 days a week. Although she is a very active kid, I love having her at home with me. She's my little buddy.

I walked her to school while the twins were napping (it's about a 2 minute walk from my house), and dropped her off. I was doing pretty good.

Then I walked into the house and Bailey was crying in her room. When I went to get her, she was actually crying for Ambree. She was saying, "Ambree-Doo" which is what the twins call her.

I picked Bailey up and said, "I miss her too!" and then I started crying.

It was a rough first day for us. Luckily Ambree's first day went much better.

I am really dreading 2 years from now when she goes into kindergarten.

My big girl just about to walk into the V.I.P Pre-School.

Walking to her first day of school!
She's so little!

Beauty and the Beast

My friends and I took our girls to see the play
Beauty and the Beast

Here is Ambree and Emma with Belle!

Look at them pose!

Emma, Ambree, and Katy enjoying the show!

My Princess and me!

All Aboard!

On Saturday August 23, we took the girls to ride the Heber Railroad.
We had fun and the girls LOVED it. Bailey kept saying
"Toot toot!"

There are seats inside and there are outside seats as well.
We got to try both.

This is the view we had while we were sitting outside:

Inside the train car it was a little warm, hence the little red face.
