Little Girls

Have you ever seen Little Orphan Annie?
Remember when Carol Burnett sings that song about little girls?

Some women are dripping with diamonds,
Some women are dripping with pearls.
Lucky me, lucky me
look at what I'm dripping with-
Little girls.

I love my Little Girls, but that's exactly how I felt this week.
All I can say is I'm grateful that this week is over!

I'm also grateful for wonderful friends who got Joe and I out of the house
for a fun over-nighter in Midway.
It was much needed after this week.

Auntie Jen

Ambree absolutely LOVES her Auntie.
Here she is on the slide with Auntie Jen.
Peace!

Mom got to squeeze in a trip down the slide too.

Looking at the ducks with Auntie.

I sure love you Auntie!
Love, Ambree

30 minutes 29 seconds!

Here I am coming up to the finish line.

And here's Auntie Jen coming in after 13.1 miles!!
GO AUNTIE!

Here I am with Joe and Ambree. I was so happy to see them at the finish line.
Ambree ran to me and gave me the biggest hug and said,
"You ran good, Mom!"

I know I'm tough.

I usually hit 3 miles at about 33 minutes or so, so I was
happy to beat my record.
30 minutes and 29 seconds!!
YAY!

Two dates and a 5K

Joe and I usually don't get out without the girls very often, but we were very lucky this weekend. Joe went skiing on Saturday for the last ski of the season and since I had to spend my Saturday alone with the girls, I made him promise to find a babysitter and take me out to dinner that night. He did (Derek and Jenessa graciously came over) and we got to go to Ruby River (their cinnamon yams come highly recommended by me). It was a quick date, but it was nice nonetheless because we could talk as adults and feel somewhat normal.
Today Joe called and said that Marshall had a few extra tickets to the Jazz game, so we should go. I called my Mom and Dad, and luckily they had nothing going on and were super excited to watch the girls. So we got to go to the game and we had fun. Jazz games are not particularly entertaining for me to watch on TV, but seeing it live is better and I actually paid attention most of the time! It was definitely nice to be out with my hubby.
Wish me luck! I run the SL 5K on Saturday. Hopefully my 4:30 am trips to the gym will have been worth it!

Conference

My favorite quote from conference:

"Treasure the doing more than the getting it done."

From M. Russell Ballard's talk in conference to parents, and mothers, especially young mothers.

The Bathtub Pooper, Lavagirl, and the Little Toddler

Can you guess who is who??

Okay, so Bailey has a running total of pooping in the tub 4 times now.
In case you were wondering, it's very disgusting.
Needless to say, these are my new best friends:

Thank you Clorox!!

Ambree has developed a passion for this movie:

It throws Joe and I off a bit because
it's not her usual princess-ey movie.

She loves Lavagirl, who I must admit is a pretty girl,
but not a princess nonetheless.
We happened to come across the movie at Wal-Mart and I've never seen Ambree so excited,
so I had to buy it for her.
Sometimes you just have to spoil them.

Brielle is walking all over the place.
She is so cute toddling around with these teensy-tinsy baby steps.
Bailey sees her walking and thinks she can do the same,
so she stands up and takes 2 steps and then falls.
Atleast she tries.
But Brielle has mastered walking.
We are so happy for her!

{Note: the Clorox wipes are for the bathroom, not the baby!}

Little leaks...

We have been battling nighttime accidents with Ambree, or as she calls them, "little leaks". She only has a little leak about once every two weeks or so. Most nights she is good to either sleep all night without a leak or get up when she has to go and then get right back into bed. But occasionally she has these little leaks, which is fine- she is only 3 and she knows that it is not her fault.
Last night she came into our room at 1:15 am, woke me and said that she had had a little leak. So I stumbled out of bed and told her to go to the bathroom while I found her some new panties and jammies. I went to the bathroom to help her clean up and said,
"Ambree, you need to remember to get up when you have to go to the bathroom so you don't have an accident in bed."
She replied:
"But I didn't have an accident Mom, I only had a little leak."
Silly girl!
