Happy Easter!

I am so behind. We had such a fun Easter weekend. Jen surprised us by coming from China to visit. It was so fun to see her little tummy! Her little boy is due to arrive in September.


It's obvious they love their Auntie.

On Saturday we colored eggs and decorated cookies.

That silly Easter Bunny always leaves an egg in our shoes if we happen to leave them out. This is Ambree's favorite part of Easter.

The Easter Bunny also hides the girls baskets in random places throughout the house. This year we found them in the tub!!!

The best part is all the eggs the Easter Bunny hides. The funniest thing that happened this Easter was Brielle woke up super early and came into my bedroom, which is normal for her. The funny thing was that, once she noticed Jen and I were asleep, she went back into the hallway and began helping herself to the Easter candy! We could hear her crunching on "nemanems" (M&M's).

We had such a fun Easter and we hope you did too!

This has been such a crazy month and I'll be glad when it's over. My other niece, Carly Nichole, passed away yesterday. I'm glad to know that those two are together and they are in loving arms. They must have been really close to their Heavenly Father for Him to call them back so quickly. I will forever remember Jon, gently and tenderly wiping the drool from Carly's little lip, and then looking into her little face, knowing that she may not ever come home. To me it shows the pure love of a parent.

This experience has helped me to remember the important things in life. Sometimes we get so caught up in something someone has done or said to us, but really, none of that matters. The most important things in this life are our families. And I've always known that, but it was a good reminder for me. One good thing to come of this is that we have grown so much closer as a family and we appreciate each other, and our little ones, so much more.

I am again so grateful for the prayers, thoughts, and kind words of everyone. Jon and Rachel have handled this situation more gracefully than I ever could. I definitely admire them. We will never forget these two little angels that brushed into and then out of our lives so quickly.

Mr. Smarty Pants

My super smart husband deserves a shout out for passing his PV today! Way to go Joe! Now he only has 8 days of class left. Ambree and I will fly out to Oklahoma City on May 2nd, then after his last class on May 4th we will drive home with him. So super EXCITED to have my husband home!

Thy will be done, O Lord, and not ours

I came across this scripture last night and I know it wasn't just by chance. I copied these words down and they have given me great comfort today.

An MRI showed that precious little Katelyn has severe brain damage due to the swelling. She will be taken off her ventilator tomorrow.

I truly appreciate your prayers in Jon and Rachel's behalf. I still believe in miracles. The miracle here being that we were blessed with her presence for this short time. I know that we will be with her again and it will be a happy happy day.

Thy will be done, O Lord, and not ours.

I believe that this was her calling, to come to earth and get her body, and touch our lives. Although it sorely hurts for us to lose her, she is needed somewhere far greater than here. This was the plan for little miss Katelyn Maria.

I am SO grateful for my testimony. I am grateful to know that this isn't the end. Families can be together forever. I am grateful for temples and the inspiration we receive there. I know Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and I know that we do not suffer our trials alone.

Thy will be done, O Lord, and not ours.

My little nieces are still at Primary Children's Hospital. Carly is doing very well. We are so excited. But little miss Katelyn is not progressing as quickly. She has a very low urine output, and therefore is storing all the liquid inside her little body. I heard today that they did a blood transfusion hoping that it will help.

I am grateful that there is such a wonderful place as Primary Children's, where they give such great care for each and every patient. I wouldn't want my nieces in any other hospital.

I got to visit Katelyn and Carly yesterday and they are such little babies but they have such huge spirits. They are trying so hard to get better so they can go home with their family.

Please say a prayer for this little family, and especially for Katelyn and Carly.

My brother Jon had his birthday last Friday, April 3rd. He and my sis-in-law, Rachel, got the sweetest thing...

2 beautiful baby girls!!!

Katelyn 6 lbs 4 oz, and Carly 5 lbs 11 oz.

So sweet and so darling. I got to see them on Sunday, and I had the privilege of holding Katelyn. They were in the NICU and security was tight.

Now, not only am I the mother of twins, but the auntie as well! And Rachel and I have a whole lot in common.

Last night at around 2:30 am, Katelyn was transferred to Primary Childrens because of a kidney problem. She hasn't been peeing. Later they brought Carly as well.

I heard they are doing better today. I hope and pray they continue to improve.

After her c-section, Rachel seems to be doing really well.

Silly me, I forgot my camera when I went to the hospital. As soon as I get some pics I will post them. I have to show off my new little neices!
