Another Ambree-ism

Ambree absolutely loves to bless the food for every meal. Even when we are out eating in public and are about to bite into our food, she will yell (because if you know Ambree, you know she doesn't talk- she only has one volume... LOUD!) "We have to say a prayer!" Many times have we sat in a restaurant or the food court of the mall, blessing our food. Honestly, it doesn't bother me if people are watching, because Ambree obviously doesn't care. She is so sweet and pure. Anyways, her prayers are always the same, simply blessing the food and that's it. But last night she added a little something to her repertoire:

"Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. Bless this food- strengthen our bodies..." short pause..."and help me to underspect" I don't know if she meant understand or respect, but that is what she said, "and bless me to be nice to my baby sisters, and bless me to love my mommy and daddy soooooo tight..." So sweet! "And help me to choose what's right. In Jesus' name, Amen."

I couldn't help but giggle a little, but it was seriously so darn cute. And as icing on the cake, we looked at the twins in their high- chairs and Bailey had her little arms folded! We are so proud of our sweethearts!

A little twisted?

Ambree had a little cold earlier this week, so Grandma Nielson brought over a movie for her to watch. The movie was Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Ambree watched it, and enjoyed it, but apparently she didn't quite understand much. The next day she had a friend over and I overheard Ambree tell her this: "Yesterday I was a little sick, so my Gramma brought over Mr. Iglorium's Wonderful Lorium for me to watch."

The One-Year Check Up

As you know, my babies turned one last week. They had their one-year check up today, and you won't believe me when I tell you that I took the girls (all 3 mind you) all by myself! My Mom usually comes and meets me at the office and then we make a day of it by going to lunch and going shopping. But now that she is a working woman, she couldn't make it. So I did it all myself and I felt so independent, and lucky that my girls were so good (even after those pesky immunizations!).
Here are the official stats:
Bailey
29 and a quarter inches tall (75%)
19 lbs. 7 oz. (25%)
head: 44 cm (25%)
Brielle
29 and a quarter inches tall (75%)
19 lbs. 15 oz. (25%)
head: 44 cm (25%)
Yup, they are certainly twins. The Dr. was laughing because their charts look exactly the same- he said they could almost be the same kid! Oh, and our little Guy Smiley (Brielle) was smiling so big at the Dr. as he was doing her check up. He said he mostly makes kids cry. He's never had a patient so smiley during their check up!

Happy Birthday!!

On February 28th, my two little monsters turned 1!! I can't believe it myself, but I'm happy that the very hardest part of this journey is over. Moms of twins always told me that if you can get through the first year, you will survive! So we made it. We celebrated on Sunday with a little party, and I think Ambree opened most, if not all of their gifts. They didn't seem to mind. They look up to her so much, that you almost think they wanted her to open them all.

I also felt like the worst mother on the planet when I put Brielle's cupcake (candle and all) in front of her, then turned for a split second to look at Ambree (because I absolutely love when she sings "Happy Birthday") and Brielle touched the burning candle. She was a little scared, but no damage was done, oh except for the fact that she was so scared that she may never eat another cupcake again in her life. Poor little Briellie!

Happy Birthday my little loves! Don't grow up too fast, okay?
